What We Offer
LOS ANGELES (AP) — At least 55 people were hurt, two seriously, when a Metro light rail train and a University of Southern California shuttle bus collided Tuesday along a busy thoroughfare in downtown Los Angeles, officials said. We’re a family-owned company guided by a set of principles that empower us to act as a trusted partner to our customers, communities and teammates. These beliefs motivate us to innovate and transform for the future and are the foundation to our ongoing success. During the 1990s, Charlotte Tractor was consistently ranked as one of the top five New Holland dealers in the nation. Although the company is one of New Holland’s largest parts dealers, its ties were broken temporarily with the manufacturer in 2001, and at that time the company became the number one Kobuta dealership in the nation. Now back under New Holland’s wing, Charlotte Tractor, with plans to continue growing with the line, hopes the bond will bring success for both companies.

The Starcraft 40-passenger bus was traveling westbound on Exposition Boulevard with only the driver and one passenger aboard when the collision occurred, according to a statement from USC Transportation. The bus driver and passenger were the two most severely injured, according to fire department officials. In 2019, Highway acquired its first Kubota dealer in Millstone, New Jersey and quickly earned the “Kubota Elite Dealer” status—a testament to Millstone’s quality customer service and incredible brand representation.
Exposition Boulevard was closed in both directions during the initial investigation. Metro said its train service would be limited and buses would be used to get passengers through the crash area. Dave Sotero, a spokesperson for LA Metro, said the bus crossed into the path of an E Line train. The light rail line runs from East Los Angeles to downtown Santa Monica mostly along streets, and not all of the crossings have gates.

Currently, Crowns & Hops has more than 20 beer recipes, according to Hunter, who likens the development process to a kind of grain-and-hops Rubik’s Cube. Ideally, the brewery will launch with a mix of these beers, a portfolio with a pilsner, a lager, stouts, stouts with adjuncts, IPAs and hazy IPAs. Because so many members of the community have told Ashburn and Hunter they’ve discovered craft beer through the brand or its events, the duo want to offer a range of styles for people who might be new to exploring craft beer. Hip-hop has been enjoying its moment for decades as the dominant selling music in the U.S. But even beyond sales, the music also has influenced the format of other musical genres. One of the great things about the 50th anniversary was that it showcased the pioneering artists to an emerging hip-hop audience.
Avian flu outbreak raises a disturbing question: Is our food system built on poop?
As a scholar and hip-hop expert, I do this work because it's important to provide clarity to where and how hip-hop enters these crucial discussions. There is a long history of hip-hop being misinterpreted and distorted as the problem and as a vehicle for demonizing young people. The impact that hip-hop as a cultural force plays in the lives of young people and within the American electorate should not be minimized.

BrewDog, a Scottish brewery that often invests in independent beer operations, invested in the company through a development fund. Hunter, who was born in Inglewood, wanted to return to the city and bring a business for Black and brown beer lovers, one that could provide inspiration to others that the same pathways to entrepreneurship are open to them too. What’s more, Hunter and Ashburn say, beer is often tied to gentrification — white gentrification, which has prompted discussions on how they could build a new facility without driving up costs and while preserving the neighborhood’s culture. There’s room to grow, but even though the city is home to vacant commercial properties ripe for breweries, the cost is often prohibitive — all over Southern California — for large and resource-heavy businesses, and rents are high. The project was announced last month as part of &360, a new documentary anthology from Andscape, intended to explore the influence of Black culture on American society.
It’s not unprecedented to see an artist roll up to the fest with brand-new material. Kendrick Lamar dropped “Damn.” two days before his first Coachella headlining stint in 2017. The Los Angeles Police Department arrested approximately 50 protestors at the University of Southern California after campus police gave a dispersal order to demonstrators, according to a CNN crew at the scene.

For years, the network made a great show of keeping politics out of its journalism, cracking down on select personalities who crossed the line off air. But with changing times has come new management that appears to be perfectly fine giving itself over to political fodder, and no view would appear to be too extreme. In a world where top personality Stephen A Smith goes on Hannity to say Black Americans could relate to Donald Trump “being discriminated against”, a straight political documentary from the self-styled worldwide leader in sports isn’t as far-fetched an idea as it would’ve been even four years ago. Before Bill Clinton played the sax on Arsenio, Eazy-E popped up at a $1,250-a-plate members’ only luncheon for George HW Bush after condemning law and order on NWA’s Fuck Tha Police and grabbed headlines. Soon thereafter the political ruling class realized that hip-hop was a useful tool, one that could be used to scare up white votes, through formal protest and policies targeting explicit artists and lyrics and firebrand activists like Sister Soulja, and stir up the scores of young voters who connected with the music. There was more in the doc about hip-hop rallying the youth voter via P Diddy’s popular Vote or Die mass-registration campaign, but recent events would force the production team to reduce the hip-hop impresario to a passing figure in this history.

When they do open their own brewing facility, they envision an atmosphere that’s welcome to all, even for those who don’t love craft beer or don’t drink. They want a taproom and a large outdoor area with music and an aesthetic and vibe that harks back to their childhood experiences. Artists like J Dilla and Kendrick Lamar will be on rotation while families play games you might not see at other breweries, like dominos (a favorite of Hunter’s). Hip-hop will absolutely play a role in 2024, as its presence and impact has continued to play a role from George H.W. Bush to President Biden.

The university "supports free speech through open dialogue that is respectful and constructive," the officials said. Other buildings on the campus in Arcata are at risk of being occupied, and protesters “have shown a willingness” to lock themselves in facilities and steal equipment, the officials said. House Speaker Mike Johnson called Wednesday for the resignation of the university’s president if she can't "bring order to this chaos."
Hip-Hop is centered in youth culture and cuts across several post Baby Boom generations. These younger generations, especially millennials can’t boast much about political victories via electoral politics, so they have become increasing critical and outspoken of presidential politics as we see when it comes to police brutality, inflation, war, student loan debt, foreign policy, and more. “We feel this is the perfect time to discuss how hip-hop has influenced presidential politics and to ask what we can expect from the culture in this upcoming election season,” detailed Jesse Washington, senior writer at Andscape and writer, director, and executive producer of Hip-Hop and the White House.
But it's a long history that continues to evolve and requires someone familiar with that history and its nuances to ensure that what is at stake is carefully articulated. Kitwana came to UB as part of the Distinguished Visiting Scholars program in the College of Arts and Sciences. In doing so, it demonstrated hip-hop's staying power and allowed a collective looking back at hip-hop's many accomplishments. Hip-hop journalism and hip-hop electoral politics engagement are two significant areas that have too long remained underdiscussed. This very comprehensive documentary pushes the nation to look more deeply at what hip-hop has meant in the political arena. Matsui did some of his best work in October, batting .312 with 10 homers, 15 doubles and 39 RBIs in 56 career postseason games, and he hit .615 (eight for 13) with three homers and eight RBIs to win World Series MVP honors and lead the New York Yankees to the 2009 title over the Philadelphia Phillies. No talking head is more cynical than Wocka Flocka Flame, an Atlanta rapper who not only came out for Trump in 2020, but said he was better than Obama. The enraged reaction that greeted his announcement has since given way to young Black men shifting support to Trump because they feel like Obama – ostensibly, the hip-hop president – let them down. The California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt campus will remain closed through the weekend as protesters, including "unidentified non-students," continue to occupy two buildings, school officials said in an update. This season’s pregame fests, featuring live music and $5 12-ounce pours, will be launched today before the home team’s contest against the Phillies.
Negotiations between protesters and Columbia University officials about clearing the encampment on its lawn that had been extended for 48 hours have been “unstable," said Esha Karam, managing director of Columbia Daily Spectator, citing student organizers. The university closed its campus Wednesday evening as LAPD began arresting demonstrators. “A lot of times when people think about Southern California, they think of the cities. Crowns & Hops is set to be available, at least by the can, in the new SoFi Stadium, and the entrepreneurs are aiming for their brewery space to be located nearby — as well as open in time for the Super Bowl to be held at the stadium on Feb. 13, 2022. The closures come just days before the City of Charleston and Kanawha County Commission are set to begin a demolition project at the former Macy’s anchor store at Town Center to make way for the planned Capital Sports Center project.
The board said it is "urgently working" with Shafik to resolve the unrest on campus and "rebuild the bonds of our community." The Columbia University Board of Trustees released a statement Wednesday saying they strongly support President Minouche Shafik, who has faced calls for her resignation amid intense pressure to rein in days-long protests. Work and classes will remain remote, and officials are considering keeping the campus closed for longer. At one point during the demonstrations, tensions escalated as protesters refused to relocate and remove their tents and other prohibited items, a university official said. "The university is a private campus and the group had been violating some of their orders. It was a trespass at that point and we assisted with the arrests," Los Angeles Police Captain Kelly Muniz said during a briefing.

Glasnow became the first Dodgers starter to pitch into the eighth inning this season, and though he wobbled as he neared the finish line, allowing two hits and a walk in the eighth, he blew a 96-mph fastball by Tyrone Taylor for strike three with his final pitch, punctuating the whiff with a violent fist pump as he walked off the mound. Shohei Ohtani hit his 176th career homer, a 423-foot, two-run shot to right field in the third inning, to break Hideki Matsui’s record for most home runs by a Japanese-born major leaguer, and the Dodgers broke the game open with an eight-run, six-hit, fifth-inning rally that was capped by Andy Pages’ three-run homer, the first of his career. Sometimes investors didn’t want just a stake in the brand — they wanted gross sales too, leaving the founders with almost nothing. Ohtani, the American League most valuable player in 2021 and 2023, is superior to Matsui in almost every facet of the game, but until Ohtani achieves some kind of success in October, Matsui will hold a massive edge over the two-way phenom in the “playoff performer” department. Glasnow rebounded from his worst start of the season, a five-inning, six-run, eight-hit effort in last Monday night’s 6-4 loss to Washington, with a dominant start in which he allowed only one runner to reach third base. When Helvitiq, a Swiss publishing house, proposed “Beer Hiking” in August 2022, Flashman wasted no time hitting the trails, the breweries and the keyboard. Stephanie Breijo is a reporter for the Food section and the author of its weekly news column. To be the finest food city in the country and might be biased on that count but doesn’t believe she’s wrong. Throughout the process, meetings with potential investors sometimes have gone off the rails. Proposed business arrangements would seem equitable, but then Ashburn and Hunter said they would then be presented with terms that were unacceptable.
For now, they’ll continue brewing out of Inglewood and Santa Rosa, hosting events and collaborating with Black- and brown-owned businesses and artists. Their next release, set to drop at the top of June, is a special edition of their hazy IPA, BPLB, in honor of Juneteenth, a holiday that celebrates emancipation and the end of slavery within the United States. Craft beer can be a welcoming community of its own, but Ashburn says there are multiple cultural barriers that present hurdles for Black and brown drinkers who’ve grown up with beer from mega-brewers and never visited independent breweries. Through archival footage, much of it long forgotten, Washington’s doc recalls how hip-hop wasn’t really respected as more than rebel entertainment, personified by acts like the New York City Breakers.
On Monday, April 22, the HULU documentary, “Hip-Hop and the White House,” premieres with Kitwana as an expert. It examines the relationship between what Kitwana says is the most powerful American cultural movement of the past 50 years and the most powerful position on the planet – the president of the United States. According to a 2019 Brewers Assn. survey, 88% of craft brewery owners are white; in contrast, Black brewery owners make up only 1% in the study’s findings.
Mets reliever Grant Hartwig walked Max Muncy before recording two outs, but Pages crushed a 413-foot homer to center to make it 10-0. Ohtani’s infield single loaded the bases for Freddie Freeman, who poked a two-run double just beyond the reach of diving right fielder Starling Marte for a 5-0 lead. Ohtani failed to reach the playoffs — or even experience a winning season — in his six years with the Angels, but is expected to get his first taste of the October stage with the Dodgers this season. Ohtani staked Glasnow to a 2-0 lead with his fifth homer of the season and first since April 12, a span of 29 at-bats.

What is Norwegian’s Free at Sea?

NCL's Free at Sea promotion: What to know before you book.
We have earned our position as the top search result for cruising by providing unparalleled resources, insights, and inspiration to our over 1 million readers every year. With 23 sailings, 87 ports of call, 128 days at sea, and voyages across 6 different cruise lines, we have firsthand knowledge and experience to share with fellow cruisers. You can make reservations for specialty restaurant dining starting 90 days before embarkation day. So, if they seem to be booked full online, don’t worry; the ship only releases a certain percentage of the reservations online. The beverage package offers convenience for worry-free ordering, whether you prefer soda or virgin frozen drinks. Whether the cruise drink package is worth it depends on your drink preferences and consumption.
Can you choose different Free at Sea options than your cabinmates?
In addition to changing the number of perks included with the room you book, NCL also adjusts the actual perks themselves at times. Typically, this means adding a perk or two occasionally to sweeten the offer. Norwegian Cruise Line's Free at Sea promotion allows cruisers to book a cruise and choose from a variety of perks, onboard extras and bonuses, depending on the cabin type you choose. All perks included in the promotion have no monetary value, are non-refundable, and are non-transferable. If you choose to decline any bonuses to which you are entitled, you will not receive a refund and cannot gift it to anyone else. She finds it more cost-effective to purchase individual drinks.
Does NCL Free at Sea Include Gratuities?
You’ll also have to pay a 20% gratuity on the value of each package. Guests under 21 will receive the soda package, normally $5.95-$7.95 per day. You guessed it, you have to pay 20% gratuity on the free soda packages as well.
Saving on excursions was a nice perk, but I don't like that they were listed on the NCL website as being "free."
If you’re traveling with a larger group, you may need to make alternate arrangements to stay connected. Treat yourself to an unforgettable dining experience and savour every bite as you dine in style. Remember, only the 1st and 2nd guests in each cabin will have this included. When planning your cruise itinerary, consider the various shore excursion options available at each port of call. Whether you prefer adventurous excursions such as zip-lining or jet skiing, or you prefer more relaxed options such as sightseeing tours or beach visits, there’s something for everyone. Imagine exploring ancient ruins, snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, or immersing yourself in the local culture during your shore excursions, all while saving money.
Have you cruised with Norwegian or are you planning to, and booked any Free at Sea offers? Additionally, shouldbecruising.com participates in various other affiliate programs, and we sometimes receive a commission from purchases made through our links. One option is sometimes free, but it depends on where you’re traveling from and which type of stateroom you pick. Set sail to Bermuda from Boston or NYC on a Bermuda homeport cruise. Any items over $15 USD will receive a $15 USD discount and the guest will be charged the difference to their account.
But the $50 credit can knock a decent percentage off of some of the shore excursions you’ll see listed. Although all of Norwegian’s ships have plenty of dining options included in your cruise fare, eating at one of their specialty restaurants can be a treat. Now is the time to make your summer travel dreams come true with this sizzling hot deal from NCL. Take 35% off all cruises, get a £250pp Airfare Credit on select cruises, and get Premium Beverages, Speciality dining & more when you upgrade to Free at Sea from only £199pp. From cruising the Mediterranean and waking up to a new destination every day to exploring the Greatest Outdoors in Alaska, we'll make sure you have the holiday of a lifetime! Another important consideration in marketing and promotions is that the cost of many of these “free perks” is likely already included in the overall cruise fare.
Passengers who do not wish to select any Free at Sea offers can instead choose a Sail Away rate, which might be lower than the Free at Sea rates. However, the cruise line assigns the cabin categories for passengers who choose this rate type. Welcome to High Seas Cruising, your resource for exploring the exciting world of cruise ship travel.
Norwegian Cruise 'Free at Sea' Promo Worth It for Family, Mostly - Business Insider
Norwegian Cruise 'Free at Sea' Promo Worth It for Family, Mostly.
Guarantee cabins are cheaper than booking a specific stateroom and are excluded from the Free at Sea promotion. The third and fourth guests staying in a cabin will either be free or pay $99 each with the first two guests paying full fare. No deposit is required for the third and fourth guests, but they do have to pay taxes and port fees. The exact charge for these taxes and fees varies based on the cruise length and itinerary but can be over $200 per person on some seven-day voyages.
It becomes a great promotion when you see the additional gratuities as added value. Although there have been instances when free gratuities were offered as a perk, they typically exclude gratuities on beverage packages, dining packages, and other services. Typically, the number of perks you can choose is determined by the booked cabin category. However, keep an eye out for limited-time offers where all cabin categories may have the option to select all the available offers. The Open Bar perk extends to guests 1-8, while the remaining perks apply to the lead guests 1 & 2 in the stateroom.
If more than four guests are on a reservation, guests five to eight will pay the total cruise fares. However, it’s important to note that any unused portion of the credit for a particular port cannot be rolled over or refunded. If your tour costs more than $50, you only need to pay the difference. The Open Bar perk gives you the Premium Beverage package at no cost, but you’ll have to pay the 20% daily gratuity at checkout.
In my experience, it’s worth upgrading to Free at Sea Plus for most people. I love the extra two specialty dining meals, unlimited WiFi, and my partner receives a shore excursion credit. Upgrading to Free at Sea Plus is a no-brainer if you prefer top-shelf liquor. The Premium beverage package does not include room service, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands, bottled wine or liquor, or mini bar purchases.
I'm literally just hours off of my last NCL cruise (we did Bermuda from Boston again on Norwegian Pearl and got in this morning). You won’t need to pay an extra deposit at booking for the two free kids’ fares, but you will be responsible for paying taxes and port fees. If you have a port-heavy itinerary, and you’re planning on taking an excursion in each port, this perk could be a good choice. For cruises with a lot of sea days, you may find that it’s not the best value. If you’re not planning on having at least a few alcoholic drinks per day, it may be a good idea to choose a different free perk.

The recording by Florida Georgia Line reached No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 on its initial release, but dropped off the Hot 100 in February 2013. A couple of months later, a remix by rapper Nelly was released, and the song then re-entered the top 10.[8] The song reached a peak of No. 4 on the Hot 100 chart in its 34th week, one of the slowest climbs to the top five in the chart's history. The song also logged 24 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, becoming the longest-running No. 1 single on that chart at the time, until it was surpassed in 2017 by Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road". "Cruise" went on to spend three weeks atop the Country Airplay chart—the most weeks at No. 1 on Country Airplay for a new act's first charted title since Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" in early 2004—and 24 weeks (over three different runs including the Nelly remix) atop the new Hot Country Songs chart.

The song is a mid-tempo in the key of B-flat major with a main chord pattern of B♭-F-Gm7-E♭.[14] It is about an attractive woman that the male narrator wants to cruise with in his pick-up truck. "We love back-roading and rolling down our windows and listening to music," Kelley admits with a grin. "'Cruise' came out of another writing session in the middle of another song," Kelley tells Taste of Country of the day they wrote the song with their producer, Joey Moi, as well as Chase Rice and Jesse Rice.

When the song reached its tenth week atop Hot Country Songs on May 18, 2013, it became the second song (Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together") to spend that many weeks at No. 1 since Buck Owens's "Love's Gonna Live Here" (16 weeks between October 1963 and February 1964). On August 24, 2013, it logged its 24th week at No. 1, the longest run at No. 1 in the chart's 69-year history (the previous record was 21 weeks held jointly by three songs, the last of which was Webb Pierce's "In the Jailhouse Now" from February to June 1955). On November 9, 2013, the song logged its 66th and final week on the Hot Country Songs chart,[23] setting a new all-time record of 56 weeks, previously held jointly by "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice and "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes, and just the sixth song to spend 52 or more weeks on the chart during a single chart run. “Cruise” is a thoughtful and upbeat track comparing a girl to Tennessee country-rock band, Florida Georgia Line’s favorite pastimes.
The track was first released as the opening track for their EP It'z Just What We Do, but was also added, along with the rest of the EP, to their debut studio album for Republic Nashville, titled Here’s to the Good Times, also as the opening track. The music video was directed by Brian Lazzaro and premiered in August 2012. It was filmed outside Nashville, and featured the duo driving and performing against an American flag backdrop at a colorful paint party, and showed shots of women as well as a game of strip poker.[21] In the remix, it features the duo, Nelly, and another friend of theirs, driving down a road. It shows shots of women on vehicles and riding with the men in the men's cars as they go down the country roads.

River cruising is a type of travel that involves navigating a river on a small, often luxurious, ship. Unlike ocean cruises, river cruises take passengers on journeys through inland waterways, such as the Danube, Rhine, Nile, Yangtze, Mekong, and many other rivers around the world. River cruises typically offer a more intimate and relaxed experience than ocean cruises, with smaller ships and fewer passengers.
Your Travel Partner
The Mississippi River is the first river that most people think of when it comes to cruising in the United States. American Cruise Lines has five riverboats that run almost the entire year on the Mississippi and its tributaries, including the Tennessee River, the Ohio River, and the Cumberland River. The crew and onboard experts also become well acquainted with guests and can cater to individual tastes and requests. It’s not uncommon that the crew knows each guest by name and that onboard historians share a meal with guests. That’s why an American River Cruise™ with American Cruise Lines is the perfect vacation opportunity for the discerning traveler. The inaugural cruise season will be in 2025 on itineraries along the East Coast from Maine to Florida, along with her sister ship, the American Patriot.
